With just a handful of ingredients, these simple to make bacon wrapped sausages are an easy appetizer to add to your next holiday feast. A sweet maple mustard glaze with just a hint of spice is brushed over the bacon for that perfect sweet and savoury flavour combination. These maple mustard bacon wrapped sausages are sure to become a crowd favourite at your next holiday party.
Ingredients
Mini sausages: Look for mini cocktail sausages or smokies. I used mini smokies here, although any kind of mini sausage will work.
Bacon: Use either a regular cut or thin cut bacon for this recipe. Avoid using a thick cut style of bacon which could make wrapping the sausages difficult. If the bacon is too thick, it may not adhere well to the sausage and unroll while baking.
Maple syrup: I like using a pure amber or dark maple syrup. You could substitute honey for the maple syrup if preferred.
Mustard: While I prefer to use grainy mustard, Dijon mustard can be used instead.

How to Make Maple Mustard Bacon Wrapped Sausages
Wrap the sausages
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with non-stick spray. Set aside. Cut the bacon slices into thirds. Take one piece of bacon and gently stretch it out. Place one of the sausages on top of the bacon and roll it up making sure there is an overlap in the bacon under the sausage.

Place the bacon wrapped sausage on the prepared baking sheet with the overlap seam on the bottom to prevent the sausages from unrolling. Repeat with the remaining sausages and bacon. Bake the sausages for 20 minutes.
Glaze the sausages

In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup, grainy mustard, pepper, and optional cayenne pepper. Whisk together. After the sausages have baked for 20 minutes, remove from the oven. Brush each sausage with the maple mustard glaze. Continue baking for another 10 minutes then repeat brushing the sausages with more of the glaze. Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes until the bacon is browned and crispy, brushing with any remaining glaze so that it is all used up.

Serve the Maple Mustard Bacon Wrapped Sausages
Allow the sausages to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before serving as they can be quite hot. Enjoy!
